Racecourses
Lake Quinsigamond is one of the oldest rowing venues in the country, having been used as a racecourse since 1857. In addition to holding the season final NEIRA Championship Regatta, Quinsigamond hosts the Eastern Sprints, the EARC’s championship regatta. Lake Quinsigamond is located on the border between Worcester and Shrewsbury, and can be accessed by Interstate 290 (exits 21 and 22) or Massachusetts Route 9. Races can be watched near the starting line at the Donahue Rowing Center or near the finish at Quinsigamond State Park. Exeter crews launch from the Donahue Rowing Center at most regattas except NEIRAs, and start at the 500 meter mark of the otherwise 2000 meter course.

Home racecourse to Andover’s crews, this wide section of the Merrimack River is only a few miles downstream from the historic Lowell Mills. The new William H. Brown Boathouse, opened in 2012, is located on Lowell Street west of Exit 46 on Interstate 93. The racecourse ends just in front of the boathouse and is a prime location to see races.

Home course of the St. Paul’s School crew team, the narrow canal connecting the Little Turkey Pond and Great Turkey Pond was dug by the Federal Government in exchange for rights to construct part of Interstate 89 on land owned by the school. After taking Exit 2 from Interstate 89, the racecourse should be accessed by Langley Parkway and U.S. Route 202–not by Silk Farm Road. This racecourse is particularly exciting because the finish line crosses the narrow canal only a few meters away from the seating area.
